Noord To Open In Early May, Is Fun To Say Out Loud at Phoodie ...

logoLast night, as we embarked on a little walking tour of some of the spots for Flavors of the Avenue in the general East Passyunk area (Spoiler alert: Great food), we got a little sneak peek of the upcoming Noord.

Philly born chef Joncarl Lachman is opening the Nordic eatery in the ?first week of May? (though the current interior is about as bare-bones as it gets), and you can check out what the exterior will likely look like in our high-quality, well-lit, definitely not taken on a phone, picture below:

NOOOORD

The 44-ish seat BYOB will offer 8 seats outside during the nicer months and some seating at the singing fountain right across the street. For those checking out Flavors of the Avenue, Lachman will be serving up a mystery dish that is currently in the works, but when Noord?s doors open, expect to see fare such as:

>>> A daily rotating Smorrebrod, or open-faced sandwich board
>>> Appetizers such as North Atlantic Oysters, Seared Diver Scallop, Pork Belly Uitsmijter, and other unpronounceables
>>> Main courses such as Roasted Loin of Pork, Jerusalem Artichoke Stuffed Rainbow Trout, Beer Battered Haddock, and everyone?s favorite, Konjin in het Zuur (rabbit leg confit, wild boar belly, baby turnips, zuurkool)
>>> Breakfest choices, a side menu devoted just to hash (the edible kind), and some lunch and dinner sammies

We recommend working on your pronunciation skills before you get there.

Noord, 1046 East Tasker Ave.
