MZUZU--Ministry of Education principal secretary Dr. MacPhil Magwira may not be relieved of his duties as fellow employees are demanding as government has obtained a court injunction against their purported strike.
Dr. Zolomphi Nkowani, Chief State Advocate, confirmed the development Tuesday.
He said the injunction, granted by deputy chairperson of the Industrial Relations Court Jack Nriva, has been served to all employees who are masterminding the strike.
"We can confirm obtaining the injunction. The injunction is restraining the employees at Ministry of Education from continuing with the industrial strike," Nkowani told Malawi's ZBS Radio.
MaraPost reported last week that employees are unhappy with the principle secretary's tough stance against corruption within the ministry.
